More Christmas Fun

This is a picture of MR Bear, a hat I made for a baby friend. I had trouble with the face, and had to sew the nose on about 3 times. The pattern is basically the fruit cap pattern from Ann Norling, with added ears, nose and eyes. I found some buttons to give him some personality.

Christmas gifts...

Finally I have something to show. I have been furiously knitting to get Christmas gifts done...
Some, I cannot show here..but I can show you these:

The scarf is something I knit last knit in about 2 hours using Patons Cha-Cha. It is for step-sister.

The Hello-Kitty hat I love! It's from a pattern by Oslofia and is for a family friend. I am proud of this project as it is my first attempt at stitching a face. I 'm not quite happy with the bow--so I may fiddle with it, but the hat does have one fan..My little 2.5 year old asks me every day if she can have one too!

I will have more projects to show but I need to go back to the store for more supplies!!

first foray for felting

this is my first attempt at felting...this was something i made for my mother-in-law last year for christmas.
i made a pair for myself as well.
i will post the "after" picture "after" i take a picture of my feet.

this is the after picture...i like the cuff and the little "bumper" that the pattern has.

more old stuff

This is an old picture of a hat that i LOVE to make. It's an Apple Hat from Ann Norling.
I love to make this hat! (did I already say that?) anyways, i have probably made about 4 this year alone...many babies born to friends..and will be making more.
I have a green version as well....

More baby stuff

Here is another recenlty finished project. In the picture, it's not completely finished. Silly me gave the gift w/out getting the final picture. The baby it was going to, is growing like a weed and I needed to get it to him asap.

The pattern is "Cargo" from Knitty by Brynne Sutton

If I had the finished picture here, they'd have cute little fake pockets and the waist would be sewn down...oh well....

Carrots

Something I've just finished!!!
A little hat for a baby at church. (I've been busy since we've had 7 babies born this year to our chuch, one is mine).
The pattern is from Stitch-N-B**ch Nation. The yarn, are some leftovers from home.
I'm not too picky when it comes to yarn for projects. I read on the SNB site that someone was saying if you used the Rowan yarn, it would cost almost $60 to make the hat!!!??? WHAT??
Not me, no thanks..i'm sure it's great yarn but...

Knee length sock
You quite like socks, but your not overly-obsessed
with them. You would have been a pair of
knee-length socks in any colour, and probably
stripy or something to make you that little bit
more interesting.

What type of sock are you?

Sockapalooza

My socks are finally on their way!! Sorry again to my sock buddy. I was making these socks as part of sockapaloooza-2 from "the blue blog".
I was supposed to have finished the socks at the end of September but little things (or little ones) kept me from finishing.
I have made about two other pairs of socks before, with similar patterned yarn.
The socks were suppposed to look exactly the same by starting each sock from a different ball of yarn, but somehow they are a little different.
Hope the sock buddy likes them!!! Posted by Picasa

thechickswithsticks

after doing a lot of searching and admiring of knitting patterns on line, i noticed something...
many people have blogs which showcase their works!!
what a fun way to let people know what you are doing, or to post a picture in case you need help.
i created this blog to allow for pictures of projects to be shared with the world.
