all fibre all the time

it's all about fibre here at my house right now.

a few months ago the word wool made my skin itch and now, look at my pretties:

Some roving from Spunky Eclectic it's called Tahiti

some Wool/Silk from Mystical Creations (not roving but it was dirt cheap silk)

and some roving from Dudley Spinner in ARAKEENE colourway

I'm sort of getting the hang of the wheel. The tension thing is making me nuts but it takes practice.

I'm one of those people who wants to do everything and do it well on the first shot. I'm not a perfectionist, I just want to be able to do it. I get bored sometimes and don't want to spend time learning to do something....I'm a weirdo.

But tomorrow is SPINNING DAY!!! I am going to go spinning for a few hours with the local guild.
Yeah!!!

and i realized i didn't post pictures of my fuzzy mud roving. I have been spinning with it but it still looks like mud:

and closer:

it is spinning though...so i guess that's the point. maybe i will dye it again later.

oh well...it's a learning process

all these sunny roving pictures are in sharp contrast to the weather last night:

i think i'd much rather stare at my roving..... :)

it's not muddy, it's subtle! i really like it, actually!

and don't worry, i've been spinning for 5 years, and i still end up with tension issues on occasion. particularly when i have to put a new drive band on, lol.

There we go again, being all parallel and whatnot. lol I was afraid I'd be HORRIBLE at spinning, particularly because I'm a good knitter. Can't be good at everything. Then I would get frustrated and give up, when I really wanted to learn this.

I've found that even when it doesn't come out 100% perfect, just the act of spinning is exciting enough to keep me from giving up. I can't wait to see what you spin up!

Hi Ann-Marie, I'll get in touch with you this way since your blog doesn't have your e-mail address on it. This is Jennifer over at the Yarn Pie Blog and you won my blogiversary contest. Congrats! I just need your mailing address so I can send you your fibery goodness!
