It's Friday....

Doesn't mean much, except we've had a whole week of grey weather and I'm about ready to scream.
So....In the hopes of keeping my sanity, Princess B and I did some kool-aid dying with the left over yarn from the Africa socks.

She chose blue and orange for my nephew (thinking that I could just whip up a pair of socks this morning...to send with his late birthday present) andred, pink and orange for herself.

Here are the results.
this:

became:

and this:

became this:

but first it did this:

in case you can't tell, it's a big splatter of orange kool-aid.

apparently 2 minutes in the microwave= good

3 minutes=bad.

I could hear it popping from the other room.

The blues don't show up very bright in the first batch, but I still think it's cute.

Her skein is quite dark, you can barely see pink, it's mostly just dark red and dark orange. She likes it and wants to keep touching it.

Some progress on the hourglass:

I have only knit on it 2 nights. The one night was the night of boredom and last night we had friends over so I didn't get anything done.

I'm already on the 3rd ball of yarn and am still keeping my fingers crossed that I will have enough.

...and in KAL news, I have signed up for Lolly's Socktoberfest 2006. I love socks, and I'm a joiner, so....Join!!

Hi! I'm bogarting your comments to comment on the comments you left on my blog. :)

1. I've been reading her blog for so long and I have wanted to pick up some stitch markers from her for a long time. I just couldn't resist those pumpkin and candy corn stitch markers.
2. My slip ons--I bought them at Target super cheap! I really regret not picking up a second pair, but I'm keeping my eye out for them, even if it is just for a re-vamped style. They're by Cherokee.
3. So do I! I don't overdo the Hello Kitty, but I have a couple choice pieces. My favorite being the HK koi pouch I use to hold all my DPNs.
4. I can't wait to figure out that Star Wars pattern for a hat or to spruce up my fair isle skills. I need to keep an eye on your blog to check out what you do on yours!
5. I've never tried Lush soap before, but a friend of mine on LJ raves about it so I'm pretty excited about it.

Now for the Grey's:
I don't know if this will help, but here is the Grey's page for the Itunes store:

Here's the direct download link for the finale:

If you aren't able to download it using those, let me know and I'll see what I can do about uploading it somewhere for download. I know that when I started up my Itunes, it had the description go way long and I had to scroll horizontally a ways to get to the download button. Let me know if you still have problems.

Thanks for stopping by my blog at LJ. I'll be sure to read yours (added it to my bloglines account). I noticed you did the Kool-Aid dying. I'm thinking about trying that, but I'm wary that if I start dying wool I may catch the dying addiction and I don't think I really need another crafting addiction. :) Catch you soon in comments and the like.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my Hourglass sweater!

I knit the 37" on US 6 needles to get an in-between size. I ordered 12 balls of KP Andean Silk but used all of 10. The only mods were knitted hems for the waist and sleeves (see Magknits' Nothing but a Tee).

You picked a nice color :-) perfect for fall!
